Occam Group are looking for experienced Environmental Assurance professionals with a strong foundation in UK defence or industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for self-starters to join a new and growing company that already has an excellent reputation for delivery.
The successful candidate will be integral in helping to shape a growing company. Day to day, you will work with clients providing specialist consultancy services and support business development activities. You will use your knowledge to influence the design, operation and maintenance of complex systems to ensure that environmental risks and impacts are identified, communicated and managed appropriately.
Candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
- Salary: £55k – £65k per annum, depending on experience.
- Location: Office (Bristol) / Client Sites / Home Working.
- Position Type: Permanent (Full Time or Part Time).
Core Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver high-quality environmental assurance and consultancy activities. This may include:
- Authoring Environmental Management Plans.
- Developing Environmental Stakeholder Registers.
- Assuring compliance with relevant environmental legislation.
- Conducting Environmental Impact Screening and Scoping studies.
- Identification and management of hazardous materials.
- Developing Environmental Case Reports.
- Technical input to projects, tenders and quotations.
- Define scopes of work and work breakdown structures.
- Involvement with business winning activities.
- Taking active steps to ensure customer satisfaction.
Required Experience:
To be successful in the aforementioned role, you will ideally have:
- Bachelor / Master of Engineering / Science Degree (essential).
- Minimum of 6 years delivery experience in environmental assurance (essential).
- Understanding of the Acquisition Safety & Environmental Management System (ASEMS) Project Oriented Environmental Management System (POEMS) (essential).
- Demonstrable knowledge of Def Stan 00-051 and JSP 418. (essential).
- Experience within one or more of the following domains: Defence (covering Air; Land; Sea; Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives; Nuclear), Rail or Civil Nuclear (essential).
- Client management / stakeholder engagement skills (essential).
- Chartered Environmentalist Status (desirable).
- Consultancy experience (desirable).
