We have a credible reputation for excellent systems assurance and systems engineering delivery. As part of our growing transport business, we are seeking an experienced System Safety Assurance Consultant with a strong foundation in Rail.

The successful candidate will be integral in helping to shape a growing company. Day to day, you will work with clients providing specialist consultancy services and support business development activities. You will use your engineering knowledge to influence the design, operation and maintenance of complex systems to ensure that technical risks are identified, communicated and managed; and that the safety of those using or relying on the system is not compromised.

Due to other types of work we deliver, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
- Salary: £60k – £75k per annum, depending on experience

Core Responsibilities
- Delivering Safety Assurance and Independent Safety Audit/Advice services.
- Coaching of junior members of staff.
- Technical leadership on projects, tenders and quotations.
- Taking active steps to ensure customer satisfaction and obtain repeat business.
- Supporting recruitment, training and mentoring.
- Leadership of business winning activities, account management and growth.
- Supporting the definition and achievement of business objectives.
- Exploring prospects for alliances and partnerships to exploit new opportunities.
Required Experience
- Bachelor / Master of Engineering/Science Degree.
- Minimum of 8 years delivery experience in systems assurance.
- Systems Safety (inc. safety case development using GSN, hazard log development, HAZOP, FMECA, Bow Tie etc.)
- Demonstrable knowledge of Rail and International System Safety standards, particularly EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129.
- Functional Safety (SIL).
- Previous Rail safety experience.
- Chartered Status with UK Engineering Council.
